Driving Across Qatar #17

Apparently you can drive all the way across Qatar in less than an hour! We decided we wanted to go to the beach. The best way to do this is to stay at a hotel with a beach. Eric had been to the Hilton in West Bay. As he was looking to get a good deal on a hotel, he found that there is another Hilton on the other side of the country. We chose that one and he said it would take an hour. It did take an hour to get there. The biggest speed limit signs said 80KM an hour. It was just a bit over 80KM. Funny part is that on the way back to Doha, Eric saw a sign that said trucks 80KM and cars 120KM. I guess that is why all the cars kept passing us on the way there!😂 I'm actually glad we went slower, because it was cool to see all the things we passed. I even saw some sort of lizard, but he was way too fast for me to get a picture.

I wish I would have gotten better pics, but it is hard from the car.

This is the closest thing to what I would call a neighborhood. Closer where we live, they all have big fences around them so it is hard to see in.  Where is Aladdin and his magic carpet when I need them?

We passed where the US Air Force Base is, but I wasn't quick enough to get a pic. Shout out to your Dad, Parker!

There was a lot of plain desert, but then we started to see small buildings that somehow reminded me of farms.

I was excited to see a very green field with a sprinkler system watering it.  I wish I knew what they were growing.

Soon it looked even more like a farm. I was super excited to see camels in the corrals. You might have to zoom in!

A better view of the camels.

I had no idea there were black camels!

I had to look it up, but I learned that a group of camels is called a caravan or a flock. Caravan is used most for domesticated camels. A flock of camels is found in the wild and can even be called a herd. Who knew?!
