Souq Waqif #9

 

I was very excited that we were going to the outdoor Souq. In my head I am picturing it like the place in Aladdin where he steals fruit. We got there and immediately the shops started closing. I guess some places close for lunch. It was fun to be there anyway. This is where I met Captain Ali!

Eric has also been told that if you look at a map, Qatar looks like a thumb sticking out. I tried to look this up and see if this is why a giant thumb statue is displayed at the souq. Again, I can't find anything online saying this is true. Looks like I will have to make another friend and find out. Oh well, its a good photo op!

We had lunch at the Souq and planned on looking around when the stores reopened. Unfortunately Eric's phone rang and we had to leave. Stay tuned to find out why!
