Souq Waqif 2 #15

We made it back to Souq Waqif today!

This is what it looks like walking into the Souq.  The tallest building in the background is a famous mosque. Eric gave me a really cool music box with it for Christmas. So fun to be looking at that for months and now recognizing it in person!

We went first to Eric's favorite gold store. Let's just say that I may be addicted to buying jewelry here.😍

We found a shop that has gorgeous chess sets. He picked one that the opposite side is backgammon. He set it up as soon as we got home tonight. I wanted him to have fun with it because he was so excited, so I offered to learn. I gave it my best shot, but still lost. Maybe I will have to call Grandpa Walker one day and get some pointers so I can do better next time!

When we were there last week I had seen a cute touristy bag that said Qatar. I found the shop that had it. Eric asked him how much. He said 45QR. Eric said he would pay 35. He said his bottom price was 40. Eric said no and walked away. Of course I followed him, but I told him I really wanted that. He was like ok, go back. He will love that! I go back and tell him I wanted it for 40. He asked if that was my husband and if he would be mad. I laughed and said he never gets mad at me! Then he really laughed! I bought it and I looked at our bank account. It was $10.99! Silly Eric!

By the time we bought these things, all the shops started closing for lunch again. There was so much still to see! I'm sure I will spend many more days there!
